Coleman knows firsthand the joys and sorrows, the highs and lows, the laughter and tears, the successes and failures of a Pastor and ministry leader.

He understands the challenges of having to lead when your heart is broken, preaching when you are struggling yourself, trying to balance family life with ministry demands, holding on when you want to quit. He has been there for over 40 years. During that time, he has directed an inner-city outreach/community center; served as youth pastor, children’s pastor, education and discipleship pastor, senior adult pastor, recreation pastor, and executive pastor. He recently retired after 25 years as a senior pastor, and also served as a corporate chaplain for the last 8 years.

Now Coleman encourages, accompanies, mentors and spiritually directs younger pastors and ministry leaders as they serve in God’s kingdom.

Coleman grew up in Central Florida. He attended Florida State University and Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a certified coach through The John Maxwell’s Organization, with additional training in coaching with Coach Net as well as a certified trainer and facilitator using the biblical DISC profile with Lead Like Jesus. Coleman has also received extensive training in spiritual direction and Soul Care under the late Dr. Larry Crabb and Larger Story Ministries.

Coleman now lives in North Carolina with his wife, Tracy, of 42 years. They are blessed to live next door to their son/daughter-in-law and grandchildren. He loves to hike, garden, travel, read and spend time with his family.

My regular connection time with Coleman has been a huge source of strength and encouragement to me over the years. He listens. He asks good questions. He always points me to Christ and the Scriptures. And, I know he always prays for me. My wife will often say to me, ‘Have you talked to Coleman about that?’ His role as a mentor in my life has been invaluable.
